Victorian Alliance of San Francisco

We are an all-volunteer organization uniquely advocating to preserve and restore historically-significant structures in San Francisco and beyond. The Alliance is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3).

We are passionate about the world-renowned residential buildings for which our great city is famous: the Victorians.

Our members include renters, homeowners, artisans, and students.

Concerned San Franciscans forged The Alliance in reaction to the wide-scale demolition of whole neighborhoods built before 1910, during so-called urban renewal projects such as started in the 1950s.

Since 1973 we have continuously met, shared hands-on restoration knowledge, enjoyed expert lectures, toured prominent places, lobbied, educated, raised funds and granted over $500,000 to projects preserving San Francisco’s heritage.

This virtual house tour and webinar continue our annual community outreach for the 47th year.

We hope the 2020 events will attract you too to join us at our next meeting, and consider becoming a volunteer and member. We gratefully accept donations, tax-deductible. Thank you.
